Vote Your Favorite Ranger for the 2016 Steven McDonald Extra Effort Award

#VoteGlass

Sorry for no Sabres/NYR review, work beckons. However, I got time for a quick update, so a few words!

The Rangers have opened up the polls for the Steven McDonald Extra Effort Award, an award granted to a Ranger at the last home game of the season. The award goes to not necessarily the best player on the team, but the player that exemplifies hard work. Last year’s winner was the immortal Cam Talbot.

You can vote on the award by visiting: http://rangers.nhl.com/club/page.htm?id=111406
This year, I’m voting for Tanner Glass. If John Scott can win the MVP of the All-Star Game, then Glass is more than deserving of this award.

Glass has been a great teammate all year. He has stuck up for his teammates all year. He’s brawled with the best of them. He’s scoring goals and one of the most well liked players in the locker room.

The official award is described as:

The Steven McDonald Award Extra Effort Award has been presented each season since 1987-88 to the Rangers player who goes above and beyond the call of duty both on and off the ice. This award was established in honor, and celebrates the spirit, of Police Officer Steven McDonald, a devoted Blueshirt fan who was shot in the line of duty.

Who else embodies the spirit of the award more than Tanner Glass?

After clearing waivers & being sent to the minors, Glass fought back to re-enter the Rangers locker room. With Emerson Etem not delivering, as everyone but Glen Sather predicted, Glass earned his spot on the fourth line.

Glass has overcome adversity and has been a constant professional. It would be nice to see a man who sticks up for his teammates whenever he can, earn this prestigious award.

So cast your vote today and as always…

LET’S GO RANGERS
