Greetings and salutations everyone and welcome to another blog here on BlueCollarBlueShirts.com. Tonight’s 4-3 overtime win in Edmonton may be a game to remember.
Who knows?
Perhaps this victory will jump-start the Blueshirts after their first eleven questionable matches – and where let’s face it – this twelfth game was just as rocky as all of the contests that preceded it – but it just so happened that the Rangers were able to find their way on the right side of this one – and mainly because of one period where they actually showed up in.
(Holy Dashes and Morse Code Batman!)
Of course, and this win can also be quickly forgotten about too – and as we’ve seen countless times before during the past one-hundred years of Ranger hockey.
Whatever happens next, and whether or not these 2025-26 Blueshirts will reach the playoffs as well (despite the two-points netted in Edmonton – and Sully’s Squad is still in second-to-last place in the division – but yeah – it’s early too) – then at least you can say the following:
This was a big win.
That statement – or should I say “fact” – can’t be disputed.
But alas, and the same problems still fester around this team like a belligerent boil that’s set to burst right between your buttocks (I love my alliteration) – as the Rangers can’t score on the power-play, the FAT CATS can’t buy a goal despite their millions of undeserved money and the Blueshirts are basically being carried by top-notch goaltending and a bottom-six that’s overproducing more than anyone could have ever imagined.
OF NOTE: IT’S EXTREMELY LATE AS I POST THIS BLOG – AND I’M RUNNING ON THREE-HOURS OF SLEEP – WHILE ALSO HAVING A BUSY DAY TOMORROW. IN TURN, I APOLOGIZE IN ADVANCE FOR ANY GRAMMER ISSYOUS U MAY FIND – AND FOUR THIS CAPS-LOCK DISCLAIMHER TOO!

This game in Edmonton started off like most Ranger games – the other team had more jump to start.
While Jonny Brodzinski was able to kick off the scoring at the 5:44 mark of the first period, the end result of a beautiful backhanded breakaway (which was created after he forced a turnover), thus putting the Rangers up 1-0 on the scoreboard; but it only took 67-seconds for the Oilers to tie the game at 1-all, following what essentially was a soft goal allowed by CZAR IGOR to Darnell Nurse.
When the two teams, with a lot of trading history and familiar names amongst one another, took to the locker room at the end of the first frame, then we remained with this 1-1 score.
Going into the second period, and the M$GN all-star announce crew, Dave Maloney and Kenny Albert, informed us that the Rangers had given up the least amount of second period goals this season (5), while the Oilers had scored the most amount of second period goals this season (17).
In this proverbial meeting of the unstoppable force vs. the unmovable object – and Edmonton lived up to their billing.
The Oilers, starting at the 8:48 mark of this second stanza, soon scored two-goals within at time-span of just 96-seconds.
With just .2-seconds remaining on an Edmonton power-play – and Matt Savoie scored.
This was somewhat a fluky goal (but they all count), as a puck shot from notorious 2012 Ranger Killer, Adam Henrique, had hit Savoie’s skate.
While you could debate if Savoie had kicked in the puck or not; then to be fair – and I thought that this was a good redirection goal.
After all, had the Rangers scored in this fashion, then, and like I’ve done in the past, then I would’ve been screaming bloody murder had this goal been overturned.
And true to form, as seemingly no team in the league gives up more opposing “first’s” than the Rangers – and this was Savoie’s first goal of his NHL career.
2-1, bad guys.
Come the 10:24 mark, and following both a TV timeout and a lengthy review too – then what seemed like an elementary stop by CZAR IGOR on Nurse wound up turning into a 3-1, bad guys, goal.
On this play (clip included in the GAME REVIEW segment), Nurse had innocently shot the puck – but while most thought that the rubber was trapped in CZAR IGOR’s glove – instead – and the puck was in his pads.
As #31 in white turned into his net once making what we all thought was a save – and it was revealed via video replay (and how fortunate for the Oilers that this play took place right as a TV timeout was about to hit, hence giving the league and officials extra time to take a look at it) that the puck was lodged in his pads – and once turned – across the Rangers’ goal line.
As you’ll see below – and replay was 100% right – and as a result – then you couldn’t argue against this ruling.
Now down 3-1 – and with the Oilers just hammering CZAR IGOR with shot-after-shot – and all you heard on Rangers’ social media (myself included) was pure and unbridled all-out negativity.
While I went to my usual whipping boys (and as did many others), Stinka Zibanedud and NDArtemi Panarin; elsewhere and it was what you’d expect, including, but not limited to, the following:
— ALEXIS DAIGLE LAFRENIERE IS THE BIGGEST BUST IN NHL HISTORY.
— CZAR IGOR IS THE MOST OVERPAID GOALIE IN THE LEAGUE.
— J.T. MILLER IS STILL PLAYING HURT AND SHOULD SIT UNTIL HE’S HEALTHY.
— MIKE SULLIVAN HAS NO CLUE WHAT HE’S DOING.
— FIRE CHRIS DRURY!
— BRADEN SCHNEIDER SUCKS AND SHOULD BE TRADED.
— WHY IS CONOR SHEARY IN THIS LINE-UP?
— WHO IS TAYLOR RADDYSH RELATED TO?
— WILL CUYLLE IS NOT A TOP-SIXER.
And you can guess all of the rest!
While the above opinions had some validity to them – and where at the time, then how could you believe in these Blueshirts either?; then, and like a cartoon – and the light bulb went off for the Rangers once the third period commenced.
In a period where it felt like the Rangers had about 6795656875675675 more SOG than the Oilers did (but in reality, it was 10-9, visitors – and I had to double-check this to make sure this stat was accurate) – and the Blueshirts not only flipped the script – but they re-wrote it too!
Also doing some revisions?
Sullivan – who shook up his top-nine – as the third period began like this:
Panarin/Miller/Mika
Cuylle/Laba/Lafreniere
Sheary/Parssinen/Raddysh
(And where after tonight – then I expect that we’ll see the same come Saturday in Seattle.)

In what eventually became their biggest comeback win in sometime – and which also doubled-up as their first multi-goal comeback and overtime victory too – and the Rangers couldn’t be denied!
No joke and here’s a hat-trick of my Tweets/X postings from real-time as the game was going on:
The #NYR goal-leader, Raddysh, scores again. 3-3 – wow. Just a put the puck on the net type of play – more of that! 7:56 to go and the tide has turned – Rangers rewarded for their hard play this period.

The wheels look like they’ve fallen of for the Oilers – just chasing now #NYR

Oilers playing for the point, #NYR for the win, 2:00 warning
— BlueCollarBlueShirts (@NYCTheMiC) October 31, 2025

I’m not exaggerating at all – as for whatever reason – and the Oilers just gave up in the third period.
On Edmonton’s home ice, with a two-goal lead, while playing against a struggling bottom-of-the-barrel Blueshirts and perhaps with the two best players in the league today in their line-up, Draisaitl and McDavid, too – and there was the Rangers’ bottom-six, the lowest salaried players on the team, just giving it to these guys.
I don’t have the time of possession stats for you – but I can tell you that it felt like the Rangers spent about 90% of these final twenty-minutes in the Oilers’ zone.
Cuylle, returned to the top-six, went balls-to-the-wall at Skinner. While Skinner was able to make the stop – he wasn’t able to deny the rebound – as Braden Schneider scored his first goal of the season at the 8:18 mark.
3-2, bad guys.
For Schneider, this was a huge goal – as not only was it his first of this 2025-26 campaign – but it finally got him off the of “schneid” – and in turn – should only help to boost his confidence as we move forward.
Less than four-minutes later?
Come the 12:04 mark, and there was Taylor Raddysh, personifying himself as the living embodiment of “you miss 100% of the shots that you don’t take” – as he beat Skinner with a simple shot.
3-3 – and where as a result of Raddysh’s radical fifth goal of the season – he now leads the Blueshirts in the goal scoring department.
Not bad for a guy that fans (but not me) were referring to as “Taylor Rubbish” just a week ago!
That said – and following a dozen games played – and Raddysh would be one of the last guys that I would’ve predicted to lead the team in scoring – which is also a major indictment of the FAT CATS too – and specifically the alleged sexual assaulter, the lingering biggest bust in franchise history and the Swedish-Iranian Palestinian supporter.
Speaking of the dry-haired Stinka Zibanedud – then it was #93 that almost gave this game away.
With CZAR IGOR flawless after the two fluky goals allowed – then down to 40.9-seconds remaining – and the failed dee-jay spun himself to the penalty box – the end result of a moronic high-sticking penalty committed against former Ranger, Jack Roslovic.
While this is a problem for Oiler fans – and not for Blueshirt backers – but the officials loused-up this call too – as despite Roslovic bleeding from the mouth – and this stick infraction only put Meekly Mika in the box for two-minutes – and not the four-minutes that he deserved.
To set the stage for you, then in a tied game – and the Rangers needed their man-down teams to survive for 40.9-seconds in order to at least get a point in the standings.
And if they could do that, then they would require an additional 1:20 of 4 x 3 penalty killing perfection too.
They did just that.
As CZAR IGOR went far-and-above to keep this game tied, this then allowed J.T. Miller to have his first memorable moment as franchise captain #29.
Take a look at this work of art:
JT MILLER WINS IT FOR THE RANGERS 🚨 pic.twitter.com/vImOVTda3f
— B/R Open Ice (@BR_OpenIce) October 31, 2025
4-3, GOOD GUYS – a MILLER TIME walk-off winner!
And OO-FA – the reaction from Oiler fans on this goal too – as similar to Zibanejad and Panarin here – and fans in Edmonton aren’t exactly high on the likes of Evan Bouchard and Stuart Skinner these days either!
But that’s a problem for them – and not for the likes of me or you!
While obviously the win – and the two-points added to the ledger in the standings too – delighted all of us the most; what I also enjoyed was how Miller handled his first game-winner of the season during his post-game interview:
Miller said exactly what I was saying in real-time:
Yes, the OT goal and win was fantastic – but make no bones about it – and it’s the bottom-six that’s carrying all of the weight.
Guys like Raddysh, Sheary, Carrick, Brodzinski and most impressive amongst all (due to his rookie status) Laba too, have been the true workhorses of this team – and where only the goalies, CZAR IGOR and future Hall of Famer Jonathan Quick, can challenge this crew for that supreme distinction.
I’ll save all of the scoring stats and utmost criticisms once we hit our annual “Quarter Pole Progress Report” (usually around the 20th or 21st game of the season – my own real-life/work schedule permitting), but as noted earlier – and Raddysh has lit the most red lamps for the Rangers this season.
While granted, “THE FAT CATS” do lead the team in overall scoring (points) (Fox, 9, Miller, 7, Panarin, 7 and Mika, 6) – but if you actually watch these games – then a lot of these points are of the empty calorie variety – and including Panarin having one four-point game, thus artificially boosting his totals by over 50%.
For $11.6M – and Panarin has only two unmemorable goals this season.
For $7.14M – and Lafreniere has only scored one goal – in game two of the season against the perennially god-awful Sabres.
Even guys who are in-and-out of the line-up and/or are hurt, like Rempe, Robertson, Brodzinski and Soucy, have as many goals as Lafreniere – and when you total up all of these salaries – and #13 earns more than all of them combined.
Then there’s also someone like Juuso Parssinen (2) who has doubled-up Lafreniere in this all-important and almighty statistic.
The Blueshirts, now an NHL .500 (5-5-2) after the win, still have a long ways to go.
And during that trip, 70-games in total – and it’s time for the FAT CATS to reward their bottom-sixers – and by doing some of the heavy lifting themselves.
In case you missed it, then here’s where I last left off – Quick’s 2-0 shutout against the Canucks:
NYR/VAN 10/28 Review: Jonathan Quick’s Shutout Puts Out The Fire in Rangerstown, USA – But How Long Before The Burn Returns? Miller v. Let’s now get the pregame news out of the way.
The Rangers, following the win in Vancouver, then immediately flew to Edmonton.
After a night of Albertan hotel room sleep, the Blueshirts then practiced on Wednesday and where the obvious was revealed – Sullivan was going to use the same line-up against the Oilers as he used in the win against the Canucks.
While this news was expected (and right down to CZAR IGOR replacing his back-up – you know – a Quick that was coming off of a shutout); but it was also tough news for Matthew Robertson.
For Robertson, who everyone calls “ROBO” – he was born-and-raised in Edmonton – and this annual game against the Oilers was going to mark the first time in his career where he would have a chance to play in front of his hometown friends-and-family.
Better luck to him next season.
I will say, a lot, if not all, head coaches are aware of these types of situations. (They get reports about this stuff all the time.)
While I understand the “running it back” approach after a win; but would it really have hurt the Rangers had Sully gave Vaakanainen the night off?
Sometimes, situations like these can lead to rifts – and need I remind you of these soft-as-shit fragile Rangers from last season?
But it does feel like Mr. Robo took all of this heartbreaking news in stride – but even so – then I still thought that Sullivan should’ve given him a bone here.
Come Thursday morning, the routine A.M. skate – and the line-up remained in-tact – that is – until the third period of tonight’s tilt!
Here was Sully’s line-up for the twelfth game of this 2025-26 season:
FIRST LINE: Panarin/Zibanejad/Cuylle
SECOND LINE: Sheary/Miller/Lafreniere
THIRD LINE: Parssinen/Laba/Raddysh
FOURTH LINE: Edstrom/Carrick/Brodzinski
FIRST PAIR: Gavrikov/Fox
SECOND PAIR: Soucy/Borgen
THIRD PAIR: Vaakanainen/Schneider
STARTING GOALIE: CZAR IGOR
BACK UP GOALIE: Quick
HEALTHY SCRATCHES: Brennan Othmann and Matthew Robertson
UNHEALTHY SCRATCH: Rempe
LTIR: Vincent Trocheck

During tonight’s excellent and Vagistat-free M$GN pregame show, then it was immediately mentioned that Adam Fox, after the win in Vancouver, had tied Brad Park for most points as scored by a defenseman in Rangers’ history (378).
They trail the most obvious name (Brian Leetch, 981), a player that I believe deserves to have his #4 hung from the rafters (Ron Greschner, 610) and perhaps the most forgotten about Ranger of all-time, James Patrick (467) – and where more people would know all about Patrick if he wasn’t dealt to Hartford during that 1993-94 season – a campaign that no one will ever forget.
I bring this up, because I see Lyin’ Larry Brooks, and others like him, always championing for the Rangers to retire Brad Park’s #2 (already retired for Leetch), which in turn, would give a guy who played less than 50% of his Cup-less career in New York the “rafter treatment.”
Nothing against Fox – but it didn’t take #23 that long to total Park’s point totals.
(And yes – the game is much different now than it was back then too.)
What am I really getting at?
C’mon, you have to know by now:
Then Frank Boucher, Bill Cook, Bun Cook and Ching Johnson all deserve to have their numbers retired and hung from the rafters more than anybody else.
But I may have written about this subject once or 7985667567563496347367364 zillion times before – and where I heard there’s even a book dedicated to this very subject!
As far as any other pertinent information, then it was mentioned that the Oilers (1st, 5:16) and the Rangers (3rd, 7:00) have taken the least amount of penalties per-game in the league – and where only the Wild falls in-between (6:16).
GAME REVIEW time – and where I’m going to blow through this.
In fact, I wasn’t even going to write at all tonight (I’m working a ton of overtime at the real j-o-b and tired as hell) – but after a game like this – then how could I skip it?
After all, if I’m going to write about bad losses – then I gotta be there for all the big wins too!
Firm but fair I say!
That said, and since I have to be up in three-hours for another long shift at work – then just the bullet-points tonight – and where I’ll return with the full GAME REVIEW treatment on Saturday night.
(I also know that I have 500 emails, 200 Twitter/Facebook DMs and some blog comments to respond to as well – and that’s my goal for Saturday.)
However, then if you do want a complete play-by-play of this match, then check out my Tweeter feed/blog notes for all of it, and as you can do here: https://x.com/NYCTheMiC
Let’s roll, as I already hear my pillow calling for me!

FIRST PERIOD
— After Draisaitl beat Miller at the dot, then Sheary got “Panarinitis” (or maybe SOUR DOUGH suits best) – and no, that doesn’t mean that he allegedly assaulted a woman – as instead – he just did that dipsy-doodle to nowhere shit.
— Speaking of the man who forced both the Rangers and M$GN to change their employee policies – and today was his 34th birthday – and perhaps he found some rink rat after the game to celebrate it with – as he didn’t do any celebrating on the ice, nary a leg kick either!
— Also? Then with the new Necas deal in Carolina – and the Cooley one in Utah too – and Panarin, who already was the biggest name on the board come the trade deadline (due to his pending UFA status) – but should he not get a deal between now and the summer – then he’ll also become the biggest free agent name of the off-season too.
— Seriously, and there’s really no one else out there with a resume similar to his, as McDavid, Eichel and the others that we’ve talked about in this space before are now all locked-up by their respective squadrons.
— Laba, again, a stud all-game, made his first impression when he laid a big hit on Draisaitl. The Gargantuan German was outright stunned – and he never came close to the Rangers’ rookie again.
— Similar to Mika & Panarin doing OO-GATZ – and the same could be said for both Draisaitl and McDavid too – and that’s a credit to the Rangers’ defense – and of course, to a one Mr. Shestyorkin too.
— In fact, just look at the regulation time goal scorers – which was exclusive to only defensemen and bottom-sixers.
— Carrying the load for the Oil on this night were Adam Henrique and Trent Frederic – but CZAR IGOR was able to prevent both of them from scoring goals – including when making a half-dozen saves on the Oiler SOG leader in this match – yep you know it – Henrique himself.
— Here’s Jonny Brodzinski’s first of the season – and a clip for his agent too:
Jonny Brodzinski intercepts Bouchard’s pass, races in alone, and flips a smooth backhander past Skinner to give the #NYR a 1-0 lead. 😤🔥 pic.twitter.com/x6OcAc7Pvx
— Jennifer O’Regan (@Jenny_ORegan) October 31, 2025
— 1-0, GOOD GUYS, but as noted earlier – and Nurse was able to beat CZAR IGOR over a minute later with his one-timed shot from the circle.
— 1-1.
— There was a lot of “Blueshirts’ Bad” – and one more time – until the third period. The Rangers, and whether it be Mika, Miller or Lafreniere, could never connect on any passes.
— CZAR IGOR buckled down a bit – as he was making odd-man rush saves prior to the two flukes in his net.
— The Rangers received the first power-play of the game with 2:44 remaining, as Troy Stecher unintentionally put a puck over the glass.
— The best save during these two-minutes was when CZAR IGOR stopped a McDavid-to-Draisaitl 2 x 1 odd-man rush.
— Following tonight’s dreadful 0-2 power-play performance, and I believe that the Rangers are now ranked 30th-overall in the league in this department.
— Similar to Sully’s line-up changes in the third period – and it’s time to shake-up the PP units too – and specifically – Laba on PP1, Lafreniere to the bench!
Still, 1-1 after 1.
Here’s what I said at the time:
1-0, #NYR thru 20. 1P Thoughts:
— SOG 15-10 Rangers – and an 0-1 PP too.
— Little role reversal from recent games – Rangers had the better start, Oil caught up.
— This power-play is atrocious – talk about the Miller miss, but EDM almost had a shorty too.
— Jonny…— BlueCollarBlueShirts (@NYCTheMiC) October 31, 2025

SECOND PERIOD
— Two things about the ignorant Blueshirts’ Birdbrain Beat:
One, does Wince Mercogliano ever watch what’s going on in front of him – or is he just too busy posting pictures of the free food that he ate – and as if he was a female teenager on Instantgram?
No joke, then all he does prior, during and after every game played, is share High Danger stats from some wussy ANALytic site.
When will he ever realize that real stats matter, and much more than that, than imaginary High Danger stats?
Furthermore, these Rangers don’t score goals (and especially their FAT CATS), so to just comment on HIGH DANGER ANALytics is both a useless and futile task!
Two, did anyone else hear the resident airhead of the New York Post, Mollie “I Don’t Give A Shit” Walker, during her latest podcast with Brian “At Least I Get Paid Well To Talk To This Dolt” Boyle?
I haven’t watched that podcast since Ron Duguay left it, but I saw a clip of it today on the best Rangers’ podcast/YouTube show of today, “The Blueshirt Underground Show” Facebook group.
It’s late so you have to look for it yourself – but I’m not joking about the following:
The Clairol Queen actually referred to Pavel Bure (you know – a former Ranger – and a Class of 2012 Hall of Famer too) – as Pavel “BURR.”
Then again, I shouldn’t be surprised about this gaffe at all, as she once professed to not knowing who Mark Messier was – while also pronouncing the silent “T” in Rod “Gilbert.”
(There are 6737964634893674986378347863786347986438 different ignorant moments out of her – but another two that quickly comes to mind is the fact that she didn’t know who Ron Greschner and John Vanbiesbrouck were.)
And people actually pay to read her columns!
These jackasses must be as moronic as her!
Seriously, can we all admit the following fact?
Ms. Walker is nothing but a cheap DEI hire – nothing more, nothing less.
Kudos to her (you can’t knock her for seeking employment) – but what a disservice to a rabid Rangers’ fan-base.
The fact that she was gifted this job, yet still refuses to learn anything about it?
Well that tells me that she “doesn’t give a shit” either!
— This second period was all Oilers.
— After two drop passes – and CZAR IGOR came up with a big save on Connor “WHO?”
— Immediately thereafter – and a robbery committed against Henrique too.
— Following a flurry survived with 14:20 to go, then the Oil went on their first power-play – as Laba was questionably boxed for holding McDavid.
— This then led to Savoie’s redirection/not a kick goal.
— 2-1, bad guys.
— 3-1, bad guys, after Nurse scored less than two-minutes later on the play where the puck got caught up into CZAR IGOR’s pads:
Darnell Nurse with his 2nd of the night!

— Oilersnation.com, Oily Since ‘07 (@OilersNation) October 31, 2025
— Down to eight-minutes remaining, and birthday bread boy couldn’t score on Skinner – two times at that – and despite being left wide-open during both tries.
— Laba continued to display his toughness, including during a scrum where he ate some shots – while also, and like an airhead bartender (Mollie might be better in this profession), gave out some shots too.
— Come 6:42 remaining and Howard tripped Parssinen. The end result – you know it – an 0-2 Rangers’ power-play.
— Crazier than that? The Oilers had two separate two-vs-one odd-man rushes during this Blueshirts’ two-minutes of man-up time – but CZAR IGOR wasn’t allowing the opposition to make this a three-goal deficit.
— As mass hysteria, panic and all-out rage broke out in the streets of Rangerstown, USA – then we remained at 3-1, bad guys, through forty-minutes.
Here’s what I said at the time:
3-1, bad guys, through 40. 2P Thoughts:
— Kenny & Dave said before the period that #NYR give up the fewest 2P goals and Oilers score the most – the home team won that battle.
— Both Oiler goals were fluky – but they all count – plus, good things happen when you shoot the…— BlueCollarBlueShirts (@NYCTheMiC) October 31, 2025

THIRD PERIOD
— This is when Sully mixed-up his top-nine – and to a roaring success.
— Again, the Blueshirts just D-O-M-I-N-A-T-E-D this period – and when CZAR IGOR was tasked to come up with save? Then no sweat!
— However, it didn’t look that way early, as just 28-seconds in, and Fox tripped Nurse. This was also a double-whammy, as after the trip, Fox took a stick to the chin. The 2021 Norris Trophy winner? He just missed a penalty killing shift, and once returned after receiving medical attention, never missed another shift afterwards.
— HOCKEY PLAYERS – as an injury like this would’ve crippled a baseball player!
— The Blueshirts, and like the Oil before them, had two separate two-vs-one odd-man rushes – Mika and Cuylle then Raddysh and Miller.
— The Rangers fancy-passed themselves out of getting a SOG on both of them.
— TV Dave Maloney, following being neutered once graduating from radio? He said, and I quote him verbatim, “NO COMMENT!”
— Had he been on the radio – then he would’ve blown a gasket!
— And not for nothing, and M$GN should let Maloney be himself. Let him go off when it’s warranted. After all, that’s why we love him – he bleeds blue – and he lives-and-dies with these games like all of us!
— Down to 11:42 to go and this is when Cuylle struck to the net – and when Schneider banged home the 3-2 rebound too:
Braden Schneider scores his 1st of the season off of a hell of a play by Will Cuylle.
3 straight games with a point for #NYR Cuylle. pic.twitter.com/1Gd1KCzTxn
— Jonny Lazarus (@JLazzy23) October 31, 2025
— This is what you’d call both a hard-working and rewarding play – and the same statement applies to Raddysh’s 3-3 equalizer:
Heck of a play by Sheary at the blue line. #NYR scoring leader Taylor Raddysh is showing he’s a finisher. pic.twitter.com/ux51BxkFDx
— Jonny Lazarus (@JLazzy23) October 31, 2025
— I’m not taking anything away from the Rangers’ top-goal scorer this season (thus far) – but c’mon – and an NHL goalie, as Skinner purports to be, should’ve stopped this.
— Again – that’s a problem for Oiler fans – and not for me or you!
— The rest of this period remained in favor of the Rangers – and where as noted up top – and it felt like the Oil were just begging to the hockey gods to get into overtime.
— The Blueshirts had their chances – but you know – Mika, Laffy and Panarin.
— When Mika took his idiotic penalty with 40.9-seconds to go – then you were probably like me – McDavid time.
— It never happened – and instead – we’d soon enjoy our first taste of MILLER TIME this season.
3-all after 3 periods.
Here’s what I said at the time:
3-3 after 60, we’re going to OT – and where the Oil will start with a 4 x 3 PP for 1:20, thoughts:
— #NYR owned that period
— Oil look scared
— Dumbass Mika penalty
— Another game where the bottom-six is carrying the Blueshirts’ FAT CATS
— McDavid has been held off the…— BlueCollarBlueShirts (@NYCTheMiC) October 31, 2025

OVERTIME
— After the Rangers, and mainly CZAR IGOR (five short-handed saves), killed off the Mika penalty – this then allowed Miller to call game.
— 4-3, GOOD GUYS – and yes – I was – and still am – just as shocked as you!

All in all – a much needed victory in Edmonton – and one that was most surprising in nature too!
Up Next For The Rangers:
A good road-trip (2-1-0) can become an excellent road-trip, as the Blueshirts will play guest to the Krakheads on late Saturday night (10PM EST).
Since I have no life – and with the clocks going back too – then I’ll be back with a NYR/SEA GAME REVIEW following what will hopefully be another Rangers’ win.
Frasier Crane’s favorite team (5-2-3) will enter the game rested, as they last played on Tuesday, 10/28 – a 4-3 overtime loss to the ultra-fun-to-watch Montreal Canadiens.
But who knows – and this could be a rust v. rest game that favors the Blueshirts – and after tonight’s win (and what we’ve seen all season too) – then I don’t know what to expect anymore!
But I do expect CZAR IGOR in-between the pipes for this match.
Also expected?
My ANALytical sleep stats – 5.5 high danger snores per-minute – which also means for you, your favorite segment, you know…
