If you don’t know, former NFL MVP and current WFAN personality, Boomer Esiason, who is a diehard Rangers fan, has started/popularized the art of jinxing a team.
Before every playoff series, Boomer puts the jersey of the opponent’s best player in the WFAN freezer. In essence he’s “putting the player on ice”, in an effort to influence a cold streak.
I talked about how jinxes/luck means nothing already. Read my previous blogs where I get in-depth on that subject. Basically, we as fans, do not decide the outcome of games. We can’t do anything but cheer or boo. However, it can’t hurt either!
So in the spirit of rooting for a Blueshirts victory, being a fan of the Boomer & Carton show, I will play along. Since I do not have $200 to blow on an opposing team’s jersey, I present to you, “The Freezing of Ryan Callahan.”
I should make mention, I would not have done this, until I heard Callahan is ok and practicing after having his appendix removed. He’s fair game now!
